Avalon Bay Underwater Cleanup a Hit!
The 28th annual Avalon Bay underwater cleanup was a huge success this year, with over 400 divers taking the plunge and pulling out wallets, watches, glass bottles and jar, and other detritus that found its way into Avalon Bay.
One of the most surprising finds was that no fewer than eight glasses and jars were home to living octopus. (All were returned safely to the sea.)
Stay tuned for images and video from the dive that day.

I’m bummed I didn’t get to attend the clean up! The dive guy at my local Sports Chalet said there was another one later in the year at Two Harbors. Is this true? Or is it another, similar opportunity?
Two Harbors no longer hosts an underwater clean up day. You can email Hilary directly at hboyce@scico.com if you have any questions, she manages the Dive and Recreation program in Two Harbors.
