The Catalina Way. An Insider's Guide to Catalina Island

On May 9, 2009, the Starship Enterprise will make the second port of call on its maiden voyage by stopping in at the Casino in Avalon.

Rod Roddenberry, the son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, will be hosting a very special screening of the eleventh installment in the Star Trek feature film series. This new story is actually a prequel to the other films beginning with the lives of Kirk and Spock before they joined forces aboard the Enterprise. The film features the main characters from the original Star Trek, cast with new actors, and the surprise appearance of at least one of the original crew.

The screening will be preceded by a personal introduction to the film and interactive question and answer period. It is likely that several members of the original Star Trek cast will be attending the screening as well.

Although numerous members of the audience will speakers of Klingon, it is requested that questions be posed in English. The introduction and Q&A will begin at 7:00 PM with the show beginning at 8:00 PM. Tickets are only $10.00 and may be purchased at any Discovery Tour location, the Casino Box Office, Catalina Chamber of Commerce or by calling 800-322-3434.
