The Santa Catalina Island Company announced today the addition of a Coastline Cruise aboard the Blanche W between Avalon and Two Harbors. Fares are $38 round-trip per passenger. Senior rates are $34.50 and child rates are $28.50. The tour will operate during the summer season on Saturdays only, beginning August 1, 2009.

This scenic cruise takes approximately 75 minutes each way and passes along the north-eastern edge of Santa Catalina Island, giving passengers the opportunity to see wildlife such as bald eagles, sea lions, and dolphins, as well as spectacular views of the island’s rugged coastline. Visitors can board the Blanche W at the Green Pier in Avalon, spend the day in Two Harbors, and return to their hotel in Avalon that evening. Alternately, visitors in Two harbors may stay the day in Avalon and return to Two Harbors in the evening.

The tour departs Avalon Saturdays at 9:00 AM and makes the return trip from Two Harbors at 5:30 PM. A second tour departs Two Harbors at 10:30 AM and makes the return trip from Avalon at 4:00 PM. No pets, camping gear, or suitcases are allowed on the tour. Guests will board the tour on the Green Pier and should arrive 15 minutes prior to departure. The Blanche W is a classic 64-foot long open-deck wooden vessel built in 1924 specifically for cruising the waters around Catalina Island.
